UN PROMOTING GLOBAL SUSTAINABLE TOURISM
On 28/12, the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations (UNWTO) and the tour operators Initiative for Sustainable Tourism Development (TOI) have reaffirmed their commitment to cooperate to promote tourism development sustainable tourism.

UNWTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai stressed that despite the global economic crisis, but tourism is rapidly growing region. Tourism has proved to be a powerful force and effect of economic growth in times of crisis, the eradication of poverty and the protection of heritage and environment.

WTO and the UN have cooperated study of key issues from tourism to integrate sustainable tourism into the tourism supply chain of tourism operators across the globe and the role of tourism in the world has cultural relations between tourism, biodiversity conservation and poverty eradication strategies, integration of climate protection measures in the strategy of social responsibility of the travel companies. / .
